Are you ready to make a real difference in your local community? We’re looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our dedicated team in Minehead, Somerset. This is your chance to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the highway network across Somerset!

Location & Hours

Location: Minehead, Somerset - Site based

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Salary

From: £27,976 plus overtime, call out, and standby

Your Role

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you’ll be an essential part of our highways maintenance team, ensuring efficient and timely services. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to highway defects within designated timescales, including installing and removing emergency traffic management signage.
  • Delivering minor improvement works to enhance the Somerset network.
  • Using tablet devices to provide accurate records of works and incidents.
  • Operating a variety of plant and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Promoting customer care by working closely with colleagues and interacting politely with clients and the general public.
