Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Basic Salary: £24,000 FTE

Nestled in the heart of Andover, our school is a vibrant community with a capacity for up to 60 pupils. We provide a safe and supportive environment for children aged 5 to 16 years with a range of complex needs. Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Enhance wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management at Lyttelton House School.
  • Collaborate with the Education Team to support young people's personal and academic development by removing barriers to learning.
  • Encourage positive learning behaviours among students.
  • Lead classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
  • Deliver engaging enrichment activities during 'Golden Time'.
  • Provide in-class support for academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
  • Address immediate concerns, clarifying and resolving situations effectively.
  • Document and analyze information related to lessons and interventions.
  • Assist in preparing information for meetings regarding pupils.
  • Champion the ethos of Lyttelton House School.
  • Lead initiatives in Reading and Phonics, tracking progress made by students.
  • Develop the Pupil Voice initiative, collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team on the Pupil Council.
  • Build strong relationships with parents/carers, actively participating in transitions and consultations.

What We’re Looking For

  • A solid educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics, along with strong IT skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga).
  • Proven experience in behaviour management and related techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, with the cost covered by Polaris Community.
