Here, you’ll deliver planned, structured repairs and servicing directly to our members, whether at their driveway or workplace car park.
Your Rewarding Role Awaits
As a Mobile Vehicle Technician, you’ll enjoy:
- Competitive Base Salary: Start with a base salary of £45,378 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable), with on-target earnings of up to £57,000.
- Guaranteed Overtime: Choose to work extra days at £30 per hour after your first month, giving you the potential to earn an additional £3,000 to £5,000 annually.
- Flexible Working Hours: Enjoy a 40-hour work week with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Your day begins with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and waiting for you. You’ll be responsible for:
- Routine servicing
- Advanced diagnostics using cutting-edge mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Providing member advice and recommendations based on your inspections
- Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with RAC standards
With SMR, you’ll have the time and tools to deliver quality work without the unpredictability of emergency callouts. You’ll receive a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics from day one!

What You’ll Need
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
