Position Type: Full Time/Permanent - Casual

Salary: £12.79 - £14.50 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)

Location: Southampton

Specific Hours: Shift pattern on rotation - ad hoc cover

We are on the lookout for passionate Residential Support Workers to join our team in Southampton on a casual basis. This is a fantastic opportunity that offers you the flexibility to work hours that suit your schedule, with no contractual obligations. You will be part of a collaborative team that tailors care packages to meet the unique needs of each child and young adult.

Working with us means you’ll receive training in 'Developmental Trauma' and therapeutic parenting, equipping you to provide the best support possible to our young people.

Main Duties and Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people, with an understanding of the challenges they face in care.
  • Flexibility in availability to cover sickness, annual leave, and various shifts, including sleep-in shifts.
  • Commitment to promoting, safeguarding, and protecting the welfare of our young people.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with our young people.
  • Team player who can accept direction and guidance.
  • Encouragement of individual interests and development for our young people.
  • Possession of a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards a Level 4 diploma (desirable but not essential).
  • A full UK driving license and access to a car for travel.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • A willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (cost covered by us).
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is advantageous.
