Your Role

We are on the lookout for an experienced Registered Manager to lead our dedicated team at our home in Badgworth, Axbridge. If you have a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of young people, this is the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a 3-bedded children's home in a serene rural setting, leading a team of 6 to deliver exceptional care and enriching experiences for our young residents.
  • Oversee the smooth operation and administration of the home, tackling wider operational tasks as needed.
  • Produce, update, and monitor plans and reports, demonstrating an organized and flexible managerial approach.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop your staff team in a culture of openness and enthusiasm, including delivering training.
  • Represent the company professionally to external agencies and within the local community, contributing to our ongoing development.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is not just qualified, but truly committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You should embody a high standard of professional practice, with a positive, non-judgmental attitude that values the views and feelings of those in our care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of Children's Home legislation and Ofsted inspection requirements, along with child protection and safeguarding protocols.
  • A recognized social work qualification, such as QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) and QCF Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential care for children, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license for a manual car and have access to a vehicle with business insurance (proof required during onboarding). Availability for on-call duties (approximately 2 per month) is also necessary.

What We Offer

  • 22 days of annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • Occupancy Bonus: £175 per child after the first child (e.g., for a 3-bed home, that’s an extra £350 per month).
  • A £2,000 car allowance.
  • Ofsted Report Bonuses: £500 for a Good report and £1,000 for an Outstanding report.
  • A non-contributory pension with a 9% employer contribution and company sick pay after 6 months of probation.
  • On-call payments: £10 per day Monday to Friday and £50 for Saturday and Sunday.
  • Enhanced sick pay: 5 days of full sick pay.
