Our mission is to nurture the whole person, helping them achieve their transitional milestones in a trauma-informed environment.
Position Overview
We are excited to invite applications for a full-time One-to-One Teaching Assistant role. This position is term-time only, working Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 16:30. While primarily based at our Horsham site, you may also support students at local PE venues and college settings.
Your Responsibilities
As a vital member of our team, you will:
- Collaborate with the Headteacher and class teachers to align with our therapeutic approach.
- Support the pupil in learning effectively, both individually and in group settings.
- Clarify and explain instructions to enhance understanding.
- Motivate and encourage pupils through personalized attention and support.
- Assist in areas such as speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy, and handwriting.
- Utilize praise and constructive feedback to keep pupils engaged and focused.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals on Individual Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
- Provide additional nurture and support as needed.
- Implement agreed behavior management strategies consistently.
- Build supportive relationships with pupils to foster trust and inclusion.
- Monitor and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and achieve learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A minimum qualification of GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths and English.
- A Level 3 or above Teaching Assistant qualification.
- An understanding of the challenges faced by students with Emotional, Behavioural, or Social needs.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team.
- Desirable: Experience in a specialist educational environment.
Working Conditions
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, offering a salary range of £20,422 - £21,111.51. You will be working in a supportive and dynamic environment where your contributions truly matter.
