Your Role
As a Tutor, you will:
- Support the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
- Collaborate with the education team to help young people overcome barriers to learning.
- Promote positive learning behaviours and lead classes during PPA and absence cover.
- Deliver enrichment activities and assist in lessons with academic and emotional support.
- Advocate for the ethos of Ormston School and lead interventions, including reading and phonics.
- Develop relationships with parents/carers and actively participate in transitions.
- Lead ELSA sessions and complete relevant training.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A strong educational background with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA, Cover Supervisor).
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH/Autism in an educational setting.
- Skills in behaviour management and a commitment to professional development.
- A willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
