About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position during term time only, with a competitive salary ranging from £21,257.48 to £23,232.69. You will be working closely with pupils across KS2, KS3, and KS4, providing tailored support to help them succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils.
  • Assist the Classroom Teacher during lessons and contribute to lesson planning.
  • Report on pupils' progress and collaborate with school staff to meet their needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to drive engagement and positive learning outcomes.
  • Adapt resources to suit the needs of young people.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas such as Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
  • Experience in behavior management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
