Role Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support one pupil or a small group (maximum six)
- Assist the classroom teacher during lessons
- Report on progress and concerns, liaising with school staff
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and trips
- Assist with lesson planning and preparation
- Set work and mark where appropriate
- Build positive relationships and support learning outcomes
Requirements and Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Strong basic education (minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths)
- IT skills to support learning
- Experience in a similar role (teaching assistant experience is desirable)
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
- Ability to take responsibility for areas such as food hygiene, forest school, or activities
- Experience in behaviour management
- Commitment to professional development
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
Working Conditions
This is a 12-month fixed term, part-time position, available for 2 days a week (Wednesday and Friday). The salary ranges from £21,257.48 to £23,232.69 (pro rata: £12,754.48 to £13,938.62).
