Why Choose Us?

At Easthorpe School, we are more than just an educational institution; we are a nurturing community dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and young people. Opened in November 2022, our independent specialist provision in the East Midlands is designed for pupils living with families, foster carers, or in residential homes. As we expand to accommodate growing numbers in our Lower School (ages 7-13), we invite you to be part of this exciting journey!

About Our School

With class sizes capped at 6 pupils, each classroom is supported by a qualified teacher and up to 2 teaching assistants. We cater to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as various diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher to shape our provision and enrich the lives of our pupils while enhancing your own teaching skills in a rewarding environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Support the class team to facilitate learning and promote positive behaviors.
  • Monitor pupil progress and collaborate with staff to meet individual needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and trips.
  • Build positive relationships to support learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree-level education
  • Experience teaching GCSE Science at the secondary level
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH
  • Strong behavior management skills
  • Commitment to professional development
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check

What We Offer

  • A workplace that values wellbeing
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in students' lives
  • A supportive and inclusive team environment

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, with the cost covered by Easthorpe School. We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer, committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff are expected to share this commitment.

If you’re ready to inspire and make a lasting impact, we can’t wait to hear from you!
