About the Global Field Engineering Team
The Global Field Engineering (GFE) team is a dynamic group of broadcast engineers dedicated to managing and deploying a wide array of technical equipment for live Sports and News broadcasts. Our team operates in fast-paced environments across the globe, including:
- TNT Sports
- Eurosport
- CNN
This year, our London-based team has successfully delivered major events such as:
- European Premier League and FA Cup football
- The French Open at Roland Garros
- Ultimate Cycling
- US-based REMI operations for NHL, MLB, MLS, and NASCAR

Your New Role
As the Director of Global Field Engineering, you will report to the VP of Global Field Engineering and lead our International Field Engineering Team. Your mission? To ensure the efficient deployment of field engineering resources across TNT Sports, Eurosport, and CNN.
This role will involve:
- Delivering exceptional services to internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance and driving efficiencies
- Fostering revenue growth
You will split your time between our Old Street and Chiswick offices, with frequent travel to sports events to evaluate live productions and consult with onsite customers.
Your Role Accountabilities
Team Management
- Lead, hire, train, and oversee a team of approximately 12 members across EMEA.
- Provide 24/7 broadcast and IT services for live sports and news broadcasts.
- Mentor and develop team members, offering training and performance reviews.
Collaboration and Process Improvement
- Engage with Eurosport leaders and TNT Sport technical operations teams.
- Assist the VP in setting department goals aligned with stakeholder priorities.
- Manage budget and staffing requirements effectively.
- Explore and implement new field technology and best practices.
Remote Execution and Event Coordination
- Travel frequently to sports events to evaluate live productions.
- Ensure timely delivery of field production technology executions.
- Align scheduling resource availability with commercial objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
We’re looking for candidates who have:
- Proven experience in senior events execution and field technology management within a News and Sports media organization.
- Extensive experience in live and sport field technology deployments.
- Strong leadership skills with a knack for motivating and inspiring teams.
- A proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills to represent the department globally.
