Position Overview
We are excited to invite applications for a full-time One-to-One Teaching Assistant role. This position is term-time only, Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 16:30. You will primarily work at our Horsham site, with opportunities to support at local PE venues and college settings.
Your Responsibilities
As a vital member of our team, you will:
- Collaborate with the Headteacher and class teachers to align with our therapeutic approach.
- Support the pupil in both group and individual settings by:
- Clarifying and explaining instructions.
- Ensuring effective use of equipment and materials.
- Providing motivation and encouragement tailored to the pupil's needs.
- Assisting in areas such as speech and language, reading, spelling, and numeracy.
- Using praise and commentary to help the pupil stay focused.
- Liaise with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals regarding Individual Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
- Offer additional nurture as requested by the class teacher or SENCO.
- Implement agreed behavior management strategies consistently.
- Build supportive relationships with the pupil to promote acceptance and inclusion.
- Monitor and adapt learning activities to achieve desired outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths and English.
- A Level 3 or above Teaching Assistant qualification.
- An understanding of the challenges faced by students with Emotional, Behavioural, or Social needs.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team.
- Desirable: Experience in a specialist environment.
Working Conditions
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, term-time only, with a salary range of £20,422 - £21,111.51. You will be part of a supportive and dynamic team dedicated to making a positive impact.
