Join Our Team as a Referrals Officer at Foster Care Associates!

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and families? At Foster Care Associates (FCA), we are on a mission to create lasting change, and we need dedicated individuals like you to help us achieve our goals!

About Us

Founded in 1994 by a former foster parent and social worker, FCA is a leading fostering agency and part of the Polaris Community, one of the UK's largest networks of children's service providers. Our journey began in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, and since then, we have built a strong reputation for excellence in fostering services.

Our purpose is clear: “to make a positive and lasting difference for children, families, and communities.” We are proud to be rated as Outstanding by Ofsted, and our dedicated team is committed to supporting every child and foster parent in our care.

Your Role as a Referrals Officer

As a Referrals Officer, you will be the vital link between local authorities, foster families, and social workers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing referrals from local authorities and ensuring placements are matched according to children's needs.
  • Using your initiative to find creative solutions for foster placement requests.
  • Building positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders through effective communication.
  • Demonstrating excellent organizational and administrative skills.

While previous experience in children's services is a plus, it’s not essential. What matters most is your passion for making a difference and your ability to work independently and collaboratively.

What We Offer

At FCA, we believe in supporting our staff just as much as we support the children and families we serve. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Competitive Salary: £23,535.26 per annum
  • Generous Leave: 30 days of annual leave (increasing to 35 days with length of service) plus Bank Holidays
  • Company Pension
  • Life Assurance: 2x salary
  • Employee Discount Scheme
  • Medical Cash Plan
  • Free Parking

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Sheffield office. You will receive comprehensive training and an excellent induction to help you thrive in your new role.
