Salary Structure

Unqualified:
Base salary of £30,277.23 with potential earnings up to £34,381.23 (including sleep-ins).

Qualified:
Base salary of £31,867.18 with potential earnings up to £35,971.18 (for those with a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent).

Contract Details

  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Specific Hours: 08:00 - 20:00 (12-hour shifts)
  • Location: Haverhill, Suffolk

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive induction and mandatory training to support your development and progression.
  • Fixed 12-hour shift rota:
    • Week 1: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun (48 hours)
    • Week 2: Weds, Thurs, Fri (36 hours)
  • Guaranteed minimum average of 168 hours per month.
  • Waking Night contracts available.
  • 236 hours of annual leave per year (including bank holidays), increasing by 12 hours each year for 3 years (up to 272 hours).
  • Pension scheme (after qualifying period).
  • Fully funded enrolment onto required qualifications.

Your Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for our young people. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating a supportive atmosphere that fosters each young person's development.
  • Providing emotional and social support, helping young people build positive relationships.
  • Promoting confidence, self-esteem, and independence, encouraging positive life choices.
  • Maintaining accurate records, including daily updates and safeguarding information.
  • Assessing individual needs and contributing to care plans.
  • Collaborating with managers, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Supporting daily living needs and assisting with household tasks.

What We’re Looking For

We seek individuals who are:

  • Engaging and proactive in their approach to working with young people.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Sensitive, reflective, and empathetic listeners.
  • Team players who can also work independently.
  • Experienced in the care sector or residential care.
  • Committed to obtaining a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
  • Willing to work some bank holidays.
