About the Role

Are you ready to take your culinary career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join our vibrant Butlin's Buffets Department in Skegness!

In this exciting role, you’ll report directly to the Kitchen Manager and play a pivotal part in running our bustling kitchen. You’ll lead a fantastic team of chefs, stepping up in the Kitchen Manager's absence and ensuring that every dish served is a masterpiece.

Your passion for delivering exceptional experiences will shine through as you monitor performance and develop action plans focused on continuous improvement. With your strong leadership skills, you’ll inspire and grow your team through daily briefings, effective stock control, and meticulous food presentation.

Financial performance is key, and you’ll be responsible for delivering food cost budgets through strategic menu planning and adherence to cooking standards. You’ll also ensure that our food hygiene standards and health and safety practices align with legislation and company policies.

As a role model for Butlin’s unique way of working, you’ll implement training schedules and performance development plans, motivating your team to create unforgettable experiences for our guests. Join us in our main buffet restaurant, where you’ll have the chance to lead and develop a talented team serving our half-board dining package guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Kitchen Manager in running a high-volume kitchen serving up to 3000 guests per service.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be a reliable and determined team player who seeks innovative ways to uphold our brand standards.
  • Foster a fun and energetic atmosphere, building strong relationships with team members and leaders.
  • Hold a Level 3 Food Safety qualification and confidently lead a team to maintain high standards.
  • Manage margins, control costs, and uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards.

Working Conditions:

This role covers a 5-day working week over 7 days, totaling 40 hours. Shifts typically run from 6 AM to 12 PM. Please note that this position does not include onsite accommodation.

We’re looking for candidates who:

  • Can clean our main venues and restrooms, using electrical and mechanical cleaning equipment (full training provided).
  • Are comfortable handling cleaning chemicals (full training provided).
  • Can assist with external road cleaning, including emptying waste and recycling bins.
  • Are willing to move furniture for various activities within venues.
  • Can clean and disinfect toilets and changing rooms.

Normal Working Hours:

Evening shifts from 5 PM to 2 AM. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be over 18. Start and finish times may vary depending on the break type.
