Are you ready to take your culinary career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join our vibrant Butlin's Buffets Department in Skegness! Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in running our bustling kitchen and leading a talented team of chefs. This is your chance to shine, especially when stepping up in the Kitchen Manager's absence.

We’re passionate about delivering exceptional experiences, and you’ll be at the forefront of this mission. You’ll regularly monitor performance and develop action plans focused on continuous improvement. With your strong leadership skills, you’ll inspire and grow your team through daily briefings, effective stock control, and ensuring our food presentation is top-notch.

Financial performance is key in this role. You’ll manage food cost budgets through effective menu planning and cooking to our high standards. Additionally, you’ll uphold food hygiene standards and health and safety regulations in line with legislation and company policies.

As a role model for Butlin’s unique way of working, you’ll ensure training schedules and performance development plans are in place for your team, inspiring them to deliver a fantastic experience for our guests every time. Join us in our main buffet restaurant, where you’ll lead and develop a team serving guests who have booked a half-board dining package. Variety is the spice of life, and we can’t wait for you to bring your flair!

Key Responsibilities

We’re looking for individuals with experience in a similar role, especially in high-volume environments. Our buffet department can host up to 3,000 guests per service, so being able to thrive in a fast-paced setting is essential. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and support a large team of chefs, ensuring high standards are met.
  • Monitor and improve guest experiences through effective action plans.
  • Manage food cost budgets and control margins.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Foster a positive team environment, building strong relationships with team members.

Requirements:
- Level 3 Food Safety qualification is a must.
- Proven experience in a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- A fun-loving spirit that contributes to a positive team atmosphere.

Working Conditions:
This role covers a 5-day working week over 7 days, totaling 40 hours. Shifts typically run from 6 AM to 12 PM. Please note that this position does not come with onsite accommodation.
