Location: Fareham, Hampshire

Contract: Permanent, Full Time (39 hours per week, Monday to Friday - Evenings/Nights)

Salary: £13.45 to £15.83 per hour, based on qualifications and experience

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the Area 3 network. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Carrying out highways maintenance duties as instructed, including winter maintenance when necessary.
  • Responding promptly to incidents on the network and liaising with the Regional Network Hub Control Centre.
  • Promoting customer care by working closely with team members to ensure polite and courteous interactions with clients and network users.
  • Conducting daily defect reports on vehicles and ensuring they are maintained in good order.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you possess:

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid UK Driving Licence or LGV Cat C.
  • Experience and knowledge of strict health and safety operations and their practical implications.
  • The ability to work night shifts and contribute to the out-of-hours call-out roster.
