Hours: Full-time, Permanent

Your Role
As a Senior Design Manager, you will be at the forefront of our design processes, guiding projects from pre-construction through to delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Design, manage all design aspects, and mentor junior team members. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge and exceptional people management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead the delivery of all design aspects, supervising the design management team and coordinating with design consultants.
- Create and implement design management strategies that align with our commercial goals and project requirements.
- Manage design risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulations, including CDM and the Building Safety Act.
- Oversee the review and approval process for design team documents, ensuring compliance and buildability.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure design information is delivered on schedule, supporting successful project delivery.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You hold construction qualifications (minimum HND/HNC/T level or equivalent) and ideally have membership with a professional institute such as CIOB, ARB, or ICE.
- You have experience working on Educational, Healthcare, Science, Commercial, Civic, or Community schemes valued between £15-£80 million.
- You possess excellent knowledge of building regulations, statutory legislation, and other relevant requirements.
- You excel in people management and can foster team development while building collaborative relationships.
- You have experience with document management systems, BIM reviewing software, and ISO 19650 processes.
