Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We're on the lookout for three Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our dynamic KierBAM team at the Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Location & Hours

Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (some flexibility available—just let us know when you chat with us!)

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

About KierBAM

KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently engaged in an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. This is your chance to play a crucial role in managing all contractual and financial aspects of a significant construction project. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of vital infrastructure in a secure environment.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports while conducting cost planning and control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and variations, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manage procurement processes, evaluate supplier bids, and prepare interim and final payment applications.
  • Monitor project progress, forecast final costs, and identify potential financial risks.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors while mentoring junior team members.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, with professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB preferred.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within construction or infrastructure projects, ideally in the nuclear or defence sectors.
  • Possess strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques, with proficiency in quantity surveying software.
  • Exhibit excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
  • Meet eligibility criteria, including holding a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and having resided in the UK for the past 5 years for security clearance purposes.
