What We Offer:
- Competitive Salary: Start with a base salary of £40,178, with the potential to earn up to £52,000 through bonuses.
- Guaranteed Overtime: Increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
- Work Schedule: Enjoy a 40-hour work week, with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
Your Work Environment:
You’ll be part of the Bristol cluster, covering areas like:
- Bristol (City Centre & Suburbs)
- Portishead
- Clevedon
- Filton
- Patchway
- Yate
- Keynsham
As you travel through your local area, you’ll work through a clearly planned schedule of appointments—no reactive callouts, just organized, pre-booked work where you can focus on doing the job right!
What to Expect:
Your day begins with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and the member is expecting you. You’ll carry out:
- Routine servicing
- Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
- In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
- Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
- Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
With SMR, you’ll have everything you need from day one: a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics. Use your technical skills and problem-solving abilities to get people moving safely and confidently!

What You’ll Need:
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
