The University of Reading School of Law wishes to appoint an outstanding Associate Professor in Commercial Law (as broadly defined but particularly in a field international commercial law) to further enhance our academic faculty. You will have:
- A relevant degree;
- A PhD (completed);
- A recognised record of high-quality research outputs (REF 3* or 4*) appropriate to stage of career;
- Specialist research subject knowledge in Commercial Law (broadly defined but particularly in area of international commercial law);
- A record of research funding applications with at least one successful grant application;
- Evidence of emerging global research esteem;
- Evidence of effective academic leadership;
- Record of engagement with external stakeholders;
- Supervised at least one PGR student to completion;
- Effective pedagogical and academic skills in teaching and tutoring;
- Evidence of teaching UG & PG students on Commercial Law modules;
- Ability to teach at least one core LLB subject;
- Evidence of leading curriculum development and/or student experience initiatives;
- Appropriate interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
- Evidence of working effectively and flexibly in a team, including working to deadlines and maintenance of appropriate documentation;
- Evidence of effective administration skills;
- Experience of UG and PG teaching law at University level;
- Experience of academic administration, leadership or wider contributions to academic life;
- Experience of pastoral role;
- A well-developed 5-year research plan;
- Enthusiastic, reliable, resourceful, flexible disposition;
- A willingness to play a significant role in the everyday life of the Law School.
