Key activities in addition to provision of a regular top-up service will be:
- Support the transfer of patient's own and dispensed one-stop medication between wards
- To put stock items away and rotate stock to minimise wastage.
- To identify slow moving stock and transfer to alternative locations in the trust to minimise wastage.
- To identify medicines supplied for patients that have been transferred and to deliver to patient's current location to reduce requirement for re-dispensing.
- To check and clear medicine trollies at least once a week.
- To reduce number of expired medicines & liquid medicines not labelled with "opened on"/expiry date.
- To support the ward staff in ensuring fridge and clinical room temperatures are recorded on a daily basis.

- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services
Experience

- Knowledge of stock rotation & expiry dates
- Knowledge of different medicine formulations
- Significant experience of pharmacy distribution/dispensing systems
- Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy

- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to organise own and others workload
- Good customer care skills
- Computer literate, IT skills
- Good written communication
Desirable criteria
- Experience with CMM (previously JAC) Pharmacy Computer System
