Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Recognised (Ordained/ licensed) and in current good standing with own Faith, Belief or Community.
- Educated to university degree level - or equivalent experience, that embraces theological or philosophical understanding or equivalent.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Faith and Belief systems to be able to work in a multi-cultural/multi-faith context.
- Further studies relating to chaplaincy/counselling/ pastoral care
Desirable criteria
- Current membership in UKBHC
Experience
Essential criteria
- Substantial experience of providing pastoral/spiritual care within your own belief group or faith community
- Demonstrable experience of delivering effective training and education relating to pastoral and spiritual care.
- Substantial ministerial/faith or belief group leadership experience following training and subsequent ordination (if ordination is applicable), or equivalent.
- Experience of delivering pastoral, spiritual and religious care in a health care setting.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with multi- disciplinary groups.
- 'Experience of working with people following trauma/life changing injury/ illness and end of life.
- Experience of supporting bereaved parents and arranging/conducting funerals.
Knowledge And Skills

- Theoretical knowledge on ethical issues relating to healthcare.
- To have good IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and to quickly learn patient management systems.

- To demonstrate flexibility with the out of hours rota.
- To have own transport and be prepared and able to travel trust wide.
