Location & Contract Details

  • Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
  • Contract: Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Salary: £29,641.01 to £34,946.27 depending on experience + call out + overtime

Your Responsibilities

As a Ganger, you will play a crucial role in our maintenance team, leading a small group to ensure the effective upkeep of the highway network across North Northamptonshire. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Performing repair works on various highway assets, including tarmacadam repairs to roads, footways, kerbs, signs, and street furniture.
  • Safeguarding and operating specialist equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and compliance with PUWER regulations.
  • Providing guidance and training to colleagues while adhering to Kier’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
  • Managing daily operations to ensure a safe working environment for both our team and the public.
  • Conducting point of work risk assessments to maintain safety protocols.
  • Utilizing a mobile application to document site safety information and photographs.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you can:

  • Lead teams effectively and thrive under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Hold an SMSTS/SSSTS or similar qualification.
  • Possess a NRSWA Operative or similar qualification.
  • Drive and hold a full UK driving licence.
