About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker in Southampton, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized care packages to our young residents. You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team, all trained in Developmental Trauma and therapeutic parenting, ensuring you have the tools to provide the best support possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate support to children and young people, promoting their welfare and safeguarding.
  • Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with our residents.
  • Work collaboratively within a team, accepting guidance and direction.
  • Encourage the development of individual interests and skills of our young people.
  • Participate in a 3-week rolling rota, including 24-hour shifts with sleep-ins.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children and young people, with an understanding of the challenges they face.
  • A willingness to work towards a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A full UK driving license and access to a car for travel purposes.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • A positive attitude and a desire to learn and grow.
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorder or Youth Work is a plus.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position with a shift pattern on rotation. You will enjoy:

  • A competitive salary of £33,349.58 (unqualified) or up to £35,935.36 (qualified) with sleep-in shifts.
  • A sleep-in allowance of £64 per night.
  • Up to 6 weeks of holiday per year.
