Role Responsibilities

  • Support one pupil or a small group (maximum six).
  • Assist the classroom teacher during lessons.
  • Report on progress and concerns, liaising with school staff.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and trips.
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Set work and mark where appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships and support learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Strong basic education (minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT skills.
  • Experience in a similar role (teaching assistant desirable).
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • Ability to take responsibility for areas such as food hygiene, forest school, or activities.
  • Experience in behaviour management.
  • Commitment to professional development.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
