We are currently seeking a passionate Tutor (Curriculum) to support our curriculum delivery and take on the role of cover supervisor.

Your Role

As a Tutor, you will:

  • Support the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
  • Collaborate with the education team to help young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • Promote positive learning behaviours and lead classes during PPA and absence cover.
  • Deliver enriching activities and support lessons with academic understanding or emotional needs.
  • Respond to immediate concerns and create valuable information related to lessons and interventions.
  • Advocate for the ethos of Ormston School and lead interventions, including reading and phonics.
  • Develop relationships with parents/carers and actively participate in transitions and consultations.
  • Lead ELSA sessions and complete relevant training with the local authority.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A strong educational background with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA, Cover Supervisor).
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH/Autism in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
