Founded in 1987 by a dedicated group of foster parents, ISP is proud to be the UK's first independent foster care agency. With over 30 years of experience, we have built a strong foundation of support for looked-after children, ensuring they receive the specialized care they need. Our approach centers around the child, providing a comprehensive range of services that include social workers, fostering advisors, teachers, and therapists—all working collaboratively to create a nurturing environment.

Your Role

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting foster parents and ensuring high standards of care. This is a full-time position based in Cheam, South London, with a competitive salary of up to £39,500 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to foster parents, managing a realistic caseload for effective supervision.
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions, monitoring practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in assessments, planning, and decision-making.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and reports, adhering to strict deadlines.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a qualified and experienced Supervising Social Worker who is:

  • Enthusiastic and committed to the role of foster parents.
  • Experienced in working collaboratively with foster parents and within a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Knowledgeable about relevant legislation and publications related to children's services.
  • Holds a Social Care England recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Possesses a full driving license and has unrestricted access to a car.

Working Conditions

This role is demanding yet rewarding, requiring a balance of quality assurance and training for both prospective and current foster parents. You will be expected to complete an enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by ISP.
