Founded in 1987 by a dedicated group of foster parents, ISP is proud to be the UK's first independent foster care agency. With over 30 years of experience, we have built a strong foundation of support for looked-after children, especially those who have faced challenging beginnings. Our mission is to place the child at the heart of everything we do, surrounded by a comprehensive range of support services.
Our team includes social workers, fostering advisors, teachers, and therapists, all working collaboratively to provide a therapeutic approach to fostering. This innovative model has been at the core of our success, and we are excited to expand our team!
Your Role
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting our foster parents and ensuring the highest standards of care for the children in our program. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload, ensuring effective supervision.
- Conducting regular supervision sessions to monitor practice and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborating with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in assessments, planning, and decision-making related to safeguarding and child protection.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Supervising Social Worker who is:
- Enthusiastic and committed to the role of foster parents.
- Experienced in working collaboratively with foster parents and within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Skilled in report writing and able to meet strict deadlines.
- Holds a Social Care England recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
- Possesses previous experience in children and families social work.
- Knowledgeable about relevant legislation pertaining to children's services.
- Holds a full driving license with unrestricted access to your own car.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time position based in South London, offering a competitive salary of up to £39,500 per annum. You will also enjoy:
- A £3,000 car allowance.
- 30 days of annual leave, increasing to 35 days with length of service, plus bank holidays.
