Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Basic Salary: £21,257.48
Contract: Term Time Only
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About The Olive Frances School

Located in the heart of Banbury, our school caters to up to 84 pupils aged 5 to 18 years with a range of complex needs. Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Promote the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils and visitors.
  • Initiate and act on initiatives to enhance the quality of life and well-being for pupils and staff.

Reception Duties

As the school administrator, you will be the welcoming face of our school, providing a warm and professional reception for parents, visitors, and colleagues.

  • Answer the phone in a friendly and efficient manner, recording and passing on messages as needed.
  • Ensure visitors sign in, complete the safeguarding disclaimer, and receive a visitor's badge.
  • Maintain the shared calendar and keep school information updated.
  • Provide refreshments for visitors and assist during parents' evenings and other events.
  • Manage resource ordering and keep track of deliveries.
  • Distribute internal and external correspondence appropriately.
  • Arrange ID cards for new starters and governors.
  • Liaise with transport services for pupil transport needs.
  • Support education staff in providing work experience opportunities for pupils.

Administrative Support

You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the head teacher, school management team, and all educational staff.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with a systematic approach to workload management.
  • Effective time management and planning abilities.
  • Experience in developing systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in SIMS.
  • Ability to work within budgets and monitor expenditures.
  • Understanding of relevant policies, codes of practice, and legislation.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Team player who understands school roles and responsibilities.
  • Self-evaluation skills and a proactive approach to learning opportunities.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, with costs covered by Polaris Education.
