About the Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of Kier Design's growing River Infrastructure team. You’ll work on exciting civil and river engineering projects for esteemed clients such as the Environment Agency, Severn Trent, and the Mining Remediation Authority. This role is not just about delivering projects; it’s about making a real impact on vital infrastructure schemes!
Are You the Right Fit?
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A Civil Engineer with experience in river engineering or hydraulic infrastructure.
- Comfortable delivering safe, buildable design solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Confident in using engineering judgement to manage uncertainty and technical risk.
- Experienced in a consultancy or contractor-led design environment.
- Passionate about working for a collaborative, trusted, and delivery-focused organization.
Do You Meet These Qualifications?
If you hold a degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and have:
- Post-graduate experience in hydraulic structures, river engineering, or similar.
- Progress towards Chartered or Incorporated status (e.g., CEng MICE).
- A desire to learn and develop in new technical areas with team support.
- A knack for contributing to fee proposals, value engineering, and commercial delivery.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Deliver civil and river infrastructure design from feasibility through to detailed design.
- Review and agree on client briefs, offering alternative solutions where appropriate.
- Support coordination of design activities within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Kier SHEMS, and QMS requirements.
- Contribute to value engineering, fee proposals, and programme delivery.
