Your New Role
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to lead our Technical Services team at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making Of Harry Potter (WBSTL).
As the Technical Services Manager, you will oversee all show-related aspects of the Studio Tour, including lighting, sound, video, sets, props, and more. Collaborating closely with original filmmakers and top suppliers, you will ensure that our Studio Tour operates at the highest standards, delivering a world-class visitor experience.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Lead and Develop: Manage, train, and inspire the Technical Services team to achieve high performance and compliance.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Maintain show systems and deliver preventative maintenance to maximize reliability.
- Champion Health & Safety: Proactively resolve technical issues and enhance processes for a better visitor experience.
- Resource Planning: Oversee staffing and operational efficiency to ensure the department runs smoothly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to plan and deliver technical installations and show operations.
- Duty Management: Act as Duty Manager and Duty Technician to manage daily operations and technical delivery.
- Budget Management: Handle departmental budgets and supplier relationships, ensuring strong cost control.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven management experience in a Technical Services team within tourism, leisure, or heritage industries.
- Technical expertise in AV installations, electronics, interactives, and animatronics.
- Strong project and supplier management skills with excellent communication abilities.
- Experience leading multi-skilled technical teams in fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of facilities management and effective problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and IT skills, with the ability to prioritize and adapt.
- Relevant qualifications (IPAF, PASMA, IOSH, NBOSH) are advantageous.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) with a shift pattern that includes regular weekend and evening work. Flexibility is key, as you may be required to work during weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays.
