Location: Huddersfield

Contract: 12-month fixed term, part-time, term time only (2 days a week: Wednesday & Friday)

Salary: £21,257.48 - £23,232.69 (pro rata: £12,754.48 - £13,938.62)

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support one pupil or a small group (maximum six)
  • Assist the classroom teacher during lessons
  • Report on progress and concerns, liaising with school staff
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom activities and trips
  • Help with lesson planning and preparation
  • Set work and mark where appropriate
  • Build positive relationships and support learning outcomes

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A strong educational background (minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT skills
  • Experience in a similar role (teaching assistant experience is desirable)
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
  • The ability to take responsibility for areas such as food hygiene, forest school, or activities
  • Experience in behavior management
  • A commitment to professional development
  • A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check
