Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in our highways maintenance team? We’re excited to invite a passionate Supervisor to join our Shropshire team on a 3-month fixed-term contract at our Longden Road depot.

Location: Shropshire - Longden Road, SY3 9EL
Hours: 40 hours per week - site-based
Contract: 3 Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £37,796 per annum

Your Role

As a Supervisor, you will be at the heart of our operations, overseeing site teams across the Shropshire region. Your mission? To ensure that reactive, routine, and minor works are delivered safely, on budget, and on time. You’ll play a crucial role in planning, health and safety management, and supporting your team’s development. Flexibility is key, as you may be required for winter service and emergency out-of-hours work.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Plan and coordinate programmes of work, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
  • Conduct regular safety site inspections and promote best practices across all sites.
  • Manage and develop your site team, supporting their career progression and competency development.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including CDM regulations and traffic management requirements.
  • Collaborate with supply chain partners to enhance standards and celebrate team successes.

What Are We Looking For?

This Supervisor role is perfect for you if:

  • You hold a Site Safety Management certificate (SMSTS or SSSTS).
  • You have supervisory experience in highways maintenance.
  • You possess an NRSWA Supervisor card and a full driving licence.
  • You’re confident in planning, managing teams, and maintaining safety standards.
  • You’re comfortable using digital tools and Excel to support your work.
