We are on the lookout for friendly and outgoing individuals to join our dedicated team as Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Workers.
About the Role
As a vital member of our team, you will work approximately 40 hours per week on a rota of 5 nights on, 5 nights off, from 10 PM to 9 AM. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Guildford, Surrey.
Your Responsibilities
- Promote the welfare and safety of young people in accordance with the Children Act 1989.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and supervision sessions when not on shift the night before.
- Participate in required training and attend our annual summer holiday.
- Arrive on time, complete handovers, and stay informed about each young person's needs.
- Build understanding of each young person to assess and meet their emotional and practical needs.
- Support consistent bedtime routines and encourage good hygiene habits.
- Monitor young people throughout the night, recording disturbances, movements, and key events.
- Complete nightly paperwork, including the Daily Register and safety checks.
- Prepare the breakfast table, promote healthy eating, and tidy up afterwards.
- Carry out any additional duties as requested by your line manager.
- Maintain safety and security at all times—this is our highest priority!
What We’re Looking For
A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or similar) is ideal, but not essential. We welcome applications from those who are eager to work towards this qualification!
