About the Role
We are seeking dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our team in Southampton on a casual basis. This role offers you the flexibility to work shifts as needed, allowing you to commit to hours that suit your schedule without any contractual obligations.
Your Responsibilities
- Support children and young adults in overcoming challenges related to emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of our young people.
- Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with the individuals in your care.
- Encourage the development of their unique interests and skills.
- Work collaboratively within a supportive team environment, accepting guidance and direction.
- Be flexible in your availability to cover shifts, including sickness and annual leave, as well as sleep-in shifts when necessary.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children and young people, with an understanding of the challenges they face.
- Willingness to learn and grow, with excellent communication and listening skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a car for travel purposes.
- Qualifications such as a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care are desirable, but not essential.
- Experience with Emotional Behavioral Disorder, Social/Residential Work, or Youth Work is a plus.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check, which we will cover.
