Are you ready to make a real difference in your community? We’re on the lookout for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our friendly Transportation team in Yeovil, Somerset.

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Your Impact

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring Somerset's roads are safe and well-maintained. Your work will positively impact everyone’s daily journeys!

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team, focusing on the efficient delivery of highway services across the Somerset network. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Responding promptly to highway defects to ensure public safety and minimal disruption.
  • Installing and removing emergency traffic management signage as needed.
  • Using tablet devices to maintain accurate records of work and communicate updates.
  • Providing excellent customer care through polite and helpful interactions.
  • Supporting winter maintenance and severe weather operations as required.
