Your New Role
We’re excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to lead our Technical Services team at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making Of Harry Potter (WBSTL).
As the Technical Services Manager, you will oversee all show-related aspects of the Studio Tour, including lighting, sound, video, sets, props, and show control. Collaborating closely with original filmmakers and select suppliers, you’ll ensure our tour operates at the highest standards, delivering a world-class visitor experience.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Lead and Inspire: Manage, train, and develop the Technical Services team to ensure high performance and compliance.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Maintain show systems and deliver planned preventative maintenance to maximize reliability.
- Champion Health & Safety: Proactively resolve technical issues and enhance processes for an exceptional visitor experience.
- Resource Planning: Oversee staffing and operational efficiency to keep the department running smoothly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to ensure effective planning and delivery of technical installations.
- Duty Management: Act as Duty Manager and Duty Technician to manage daily operations and technical delivery.
- Budget Management: Handle departmental budget and supplier relationships, ensuring strong cost control.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven management experience in a Technical Services team within the tourism, leisure, or heritage industry.
- Technical expertise in AV installations, electronics, interactives, and animatronics.
- Strong project and supplier management skills with excellent communication abilities.
- Experience leading multi-skilled technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid knowledge of facilities management and effective problem-solving skills.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications (IPAF, PASMA, IOSH, NBOSH) are advantageous.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time role (40 hours a week) with a shift pattern that includes regular weekend and evening work. Flexibility is key, as you may need to work during weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays.
