Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Design Manager to join our dynamic Construction team in the vibrant area of Waterbeach, Cambridge. This is a full-time, permanent position where your expertise will shine!

Your Role

As a Senior Design Manager, you will be at the forefront of our design processes, guiding projects from pre-construction through to delivery. Collaborating closely with the Head of Design, you’ll manage all aspects of design while mentoring junior team members. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your technical knowledge and people management skills to achieve outstanding project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of all design aspects and supervise the design management team.
  • Coordinate with design consultants to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Create and implement design management strategies that align with commercial goals and project requirements.
  • Manage design risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with regulations including CDM and the Building Safety Act.
  • Oversee the review and approval process for design team documents, ensuring compliance and buildability.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver design information on schedule, supporting successful project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You possess construction qualifications (minimum HND/HNC/T level or equivalent) and ideally hold membership with a professional institute such as CIOB, ARB, or ICE.
  • You have experience working on Educational, Healthcare, Science, Commercial, Civic, or Community schemes valued between £15-£80 million.
  • You have a strong understanding of building regulations, statutory legislation, and other relevant requirements.
  • You excel in people management and can foster team development while building collaborative relationships.
  • You are familiar with document management systems, BIM reviewing software, and ISO 19650 processes.
