Salary & Contract Details
Unqualified: Base salary of £30,277.23 to £31,208.49 upon successful completion of the probation period.
Qualified: Base salary of £31,867.18 (for those with a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent).
Contract Type: Permanent
Specific Hours: 08:00am - 20:00pm (12-hour shifts)
Location: Greater London (covering Camden, Haringey & Islington)
What We Offer
- Comprehensive induction and mandatory training to support your development and progression.
- Fixed 12-hour shift rota:
- Week 1: Wed, Thur (24 hours)
- Week 2: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun (60 hours)
- Guaranteed minimum average of 168 hours per month.
- Waking Night contracts available.
- 236 hours of annual leave per year, increasing by 12 hours annually for 3 years (up to 272 hours).
- Pension scheme (after qualifying period).
- Fully funded enrolment onto required qualifications.
Your Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and nurturing environment that supports each young person's development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing emotional and social support to help young people build positive relationships.
- Promoting confidence, self-esteem, and independence, encouraging positive life choices.
- Maintaining accurate records, including daily updates and safeguarding information.
- Assessing individual needs and contributing to care plans.
- Collaborating with managers, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Supporting daily living needs and assisting with household tasks.
What We’re Looking For
We seek individuals who are:
- Engaging and proactive in their approach to working with young people.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Sensitive, reflective, and empathetic listeners.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experienced in the care sector or residential care.
- Committed to obtaining a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
- Willing to work some Bank Holidays.
