Job Details

Location: Minehead, Somerset - Site based
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: From £27,976 plus overtime, call out, and standby

Your Impact

In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive team, helping to maintain and improve the highway network across Somerset. You’ll respond to defects, carry out reactive works, and support emergency responses and winter maintenance activities when needed. Your Responsibilities

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will:

• Respond to highway defects within designated timescales, including installing and removing emergency traffic management signage.
• Deliver minor improvement works to enhance the Somerset network.
• Utilize tablet devices to provide accurate records of works and incidents.
• Operate a variety of plant and equipment safely and effectively.
• Promote customer care by working closely with colleagues and interacting politely with clients and the general public.
