OT Cyber Security Program Coordinator
Overall Purpose of job
The overall purpose of this job is to ensure E&I Cyber Security projects are deployed effectively, efficiently, and safely.
The key responsibilities of the job are:
Responsible for ensuring the procedural readiness to deliver OT Cyber projects
Responsible for ensuring that all the correct paperwork and appropriate sign-offs are in place prior to site work commencing
Responsible for tracking, reporting and coordination of PS6 from part A initiation through to part F close out.
Responsible for initiating the site-specific PS5/6/8 management of change documents for each installation.
Responsible for ensuring the site-specific Non-Routine Operation (NRO) and commissioning documentation is submitted and signed off prior to site deployments
Responsible for tracking, and ensuring final as-builts from site red lines.
Correctly closes out change activities, seeks sign off, resolves issues and communicates status
Coordinates with the other E&I and Major project teams to maximise efficiency
Supports projects being carried out to programme and within budget
Ensure that projects are carried out safely and in accordance with new and existing E&I policies and procedures
Monitors and supports 3rd party contractors to operate in accordance with established E&I policies and procedures
Communicates status and priorities to OT Project Engineers and upwards to Project managers. Leads the weekly go/no go meeting and records decisions.
Helps manage and optimise schedules surrounding OT Cyber project delivery
Ensures the OT Cyber programme momentum and effective use of personnel
Expertise
The technical skills and job knowledge/experience essential in this job are:
Diligent, organised, with an attention to detail and strong writing skills
Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels both written and verbally
Experience of Management of Change in an industrial process environment
Experience in coordination of drafting updates and asset management activities
Worked as a Project Manager or Coordinator in an OT environment
Use non-authoritative skills to secure progress on deliverables outside your control
Be successful in securing SC clearance
Exposure to OT systems and a willingness and ability to learn new skills
Understand the importance of Cyber Security in an OT environment
Knowledge and or training in permit to work processes.
Use common Microsoft office applications to build reports, manage files and communicate status.
Hold a full valid driving license
Some travel to site required
The role is a dedicated resource, for the OT Cyber Security Programme. They help ensure that the correct procedures are used and the correct documentation is in place to allow a successful site deployment. They managed the team schedule and report on status and progress. They track supplier performance to ensure alignment SLAs. They use non-authoritative skills to progress manual processes through to completion. They focus on ensuring that processes are followed and is complete, not on the technical content. They attend and chair meetings relevant to their areas of responsibility.
Complexity
Generally speaking, the typical problems encountered in this job will be routine. The project will be deploying the same solution across multiple sites. It is expected that over time the candidate will gain the experience and knowledge to continuously improve the deployment outcomes. Being organised and having an attention for detail will bring success.
Occasional non-routine/complex, situations requiring analysis, experience and knowledge, within a time constraint; for example:
A typical problem the job holder is expected to deal with themselves is when schedules for site access change. The candidate should be capable of reacting quickly, communicating to project teams, updating documentation, and securing subsequent approvals.
Maintaining strong understanding of where each site is in the approvals process and Identifying sites ready for deployment should schedules change.
A typical problem the job holder will need to seek advice on: Exceptions to the PS6 or NRO process. Over time being able to assess and apply experience to address these themselves.
A typical problem the job holder will need to escalate for someone else to deal with is if activities are disrupted by higher priority work at short notice requiring work rescheduling.
The most difficult aspect of this job is managing resources and prioritising the workload.
The job does require someone who can think strategically and tactically as the job holder is required to help develop the programme deployment strategy going forward.
The role will need the ability assess when to; seek assistance, escalate or reschedule a site visit.
Impact
The role has a potentially far reaching internal and external impact. If they fail in their purpose, or fail to escalate issues as required, they may contribute to exceeding schedule and budgetary constraints. Procedural gaps, could potentially lead to audit failure, and in the extreme, HSE investigation and reputational damage.
The project's target systems are related to site monitoring, gas quality and billing. Daily reports are generated and transmitted as required by the gas regulator. Impact to these systems can incur financial penalty.
The job does directly contribute to departmental and company objectives as the departmental objectives are aligned with that of the business.
The most impactful decisions the job holder will typically make are around when to halt project activities in favour of operational demands.
Influence
The job holder interacts with Gas Control, SCO desk, Operations, Maintenance, Health and Safety, Procurement, IT and Network within the business on a regular basis.
The job holder interacts with the above stakeholders to exchange information, build rapport, enhance SGN's reputation, handle complaints, influence and persuade and conduct negotiations.
The job holder also interacts with 3rd party suppliers ensuring they are furnished with the correct inputs in the agreed time frames but also to ensure the 3rd party deliverables are supplied as agreed.
Resource
The job holder provides quality control, work allocation and planning and problem resolution within the project scope.
Job Holder will have access to, and interact with, SGN OT security designs and products implemented at CNI sites.
The job holder manages themselves and coordinates SGN and 3rd party's working at SGN assets on electrical instrumentation systems.
The job holder works on a number of projects across multiple sites
