About the Role
We are currently seeking a One-to-One Teaching Assistant to cover maternity leave on a 12-month Fixed Term, Full-Time basis, during term time only. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our pupils and support their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils.
- Assist the classroom teacher during lessons.
- Report on pupils' progress and concerns, collaborating with other staff to meet pupils' needs.
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
- Help with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
- Adapt resources to meet the needs of young people.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
- Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
- Experience in behavior management techniques.
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to starting work.
Working Conditions
This role is full-time and operates on a term-time only basis, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.
