Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and families? Fostering People is seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior/Supervising Social Worker for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our innovative team and support Foster Parents across the East Midlands, primarily in Derby and Derbyshire, with some involvement in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

  • Hours: 21 hours per week over 3 days
  • Salary: Up to £24,930.29 per annum (£41,550.49 FTE)

Your Role

As a Senior/Supervising Social Worker, you will:

  • Recruit, train, assess, support, and supervise Foster Parents.
  • Ensure high-quality placements for looked-after children.
  • Work closely with a friendly and dynamic team.

What We’re Looking For

We seek an enthusiastic and committed self-starter who can:

  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with team members and Foster Parents.
  • Demonstrate excellent assessment skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Utilize good IT skills for high-quality report writing.
  • Hold a qualification in Social Work with current HCPC registration.
  • Possess recent experience in fostering and services for children (desirable but not essential).
  • Have a solid understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Bring a shared creative vision, whether you’re new to fostering or an experienced professional.

Working Conditions & Benefits

This part-time, home-based position offers:

  • Salary: Up to £24,930.29 per annum (£41,550.49 FTE)
  • Car Allowance: £1,000 (pro rata)
  • Annual Leave: 30 days (pro rata) + bank holidays
