Ensuring that young people move into and sustain positive destinations is a key priority for Fife Council's Education Directorate.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Employability Officer to support targeted young people, particularly those who are care experienced, to develop work readiness, engage in learning and successfully transition into further education, training or employment.
Key responsibilities:
The Person
You will bring experience of working with young people or individuals who may face barriers to employment, with the ability to motivate and support learners into a future Positive Destination's pathway. You should have:
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
Further Information
As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a "blended working" arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.

- Build relationships with pupils, families, schools and partners.
- Deliver tailored interventions and pathways.
- Act as a link between school, home and partners.
- Support learners through coaching and mentoring.
- Contribute to programme design and delivery.
- Collect and analyse data to support monitoring and improvement.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings.
- Engage employers to create opportunities.
The Person

- Experience supporting young people or those with barriers.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships.
- Ability to use initiative and creativity to develop solution focused supports and resources.
- Ability to assess needs and support progression.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Confidence using data.
- Flexibility to work across a range of locations within Fife.
- Qualifications to SCQF Level 6 (or equivalent).
