At Polaris Education, we are looking for a dedicated Tutor to join our vibrant community at The Olive Frances School in Banbury, Oxfordshire. With a focus on supporting pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs, we believe in creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and empowered.

Your Role

As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and readiness for learning of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the improvement of well-being, resilience, and behavior management.
  • Collaborating with the education team to help remove barriers to learning.
  • Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
  • Delivering engaging enrichment activities.
  • Assisting in lessons to support academic understanding and emotional needs.
  • Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
  • Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
  • Advocating for the school’s ethos and leading on reading and phonics initiatives.
  • Developing relationships with parents/carers and participating in transitions and consultations.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as HLTA.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs in an educational setting.
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
  • Experience in behavior management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.

Working Conditions

This is a Full-Time, Term Time Only position with a basic salary of £24,000 FTE. You will enjoy a supportive work environment that prioritizes emotional health and well-being.
