We are excited to invite a dedicated Children's Home Registered Manager to lead our brand new 4-bed home in Doncaster.

About the Role

As the Registered Manager, you will hold the key responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home. Your leadership will ensure that we deliver a high-quality level of care, promoting the rights of young people and supporting their transitions into adulthood.

Main Responsibilities

  • Service and Practice: Develop and deliver high-quality care in line with relevant legislation and organizational policies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of care workers to achieve positive outcomes for young people in their physical, psychological, emotional, and social development.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain appropriate records for both young people and staff, implementing monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Meetings: Prepare for and chair various internal and external meetings.
  • On-Call Responsibilities: Participate in on-call duties and cover sleep-in shifts as needed.
  • Admissions Oversight: Manage all admissions and discharges to the home.

Human Resource Management

  • Involve in the recruitment process, ensuring all relevant checks are completed.
  • Oversee staff induction, supervision, and appraisal in line with organizational policy.
  • Ensure continuous professional development of the staff team.
  • Handle grievances, complaints, and disciplinary matters as per organizational procedures.

Management of Resources

  • Monitor the service budget and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Ensure the maintenance of service premises and equipment meets all requirements.

External Affairs

  • Promote the organization positively with external agencies and the public.
  • Liaise with commissioners regarding admissions.
  • Lead psychotherapy leadership and management forums.

Required Attributes

  • Enthusiasm for providing the highest quality care and education.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position requiring 39 hours per week. Some office days will be necessary for administrative duties, and sleep-in duties will be required as per the home’s rota.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: Up to £64,280 (includes Ofsted and occupancy bonuses).
  • 25 days of annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays.
  • £3,000 Bonus for an Outstanding Ofsted Report.
  • Full Occupancy Bonus: £600 a month.
  • On-call payments: £25 on weekdays, £35 on weekends.
  • Pension scheme in line with organizational and government guidelines.
  • Petrol allowance for using your own car (proof of business insurance required).
