About the Role

As a Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting the welfare and safety of young people. You’ll work approximately 40 hours per week on a rota of 5 nights on, 5 nights off, from 10 PM to 9 AM. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring young people throughout the night and recording key events.
  • Supporting consistent bedtime routines and encouraging good hygiene habits.
  • Building strong relationships to understand and meet each young person's emotional and practical needs.
  • Completing nightly paperwork, including Daily Registers and safety checks.
  • Preparing breakfast and promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Maintaining safety and security at all times.
  • Participating in training and attending staff meetings as required.

What We’re Looking For

While a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or similar) is ideal, we welcome applications from those who are eager to work towards it. If you have a passion for supporting young people and a commitment to their welfare, we want to hear from you!

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary of £28,619.14 per annum, with opportunities for overtime. You will be part of a supportive team that values your contributions and encourages your growth.
