At Ormston School in Headingley, Leeds, we are looking for a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and nurturing community. About the Role

This is a 12-month Fixed Term, Full-Time position covering maternity leave, with a salary range of £21,257.48 - £23,232.69. You will work during term time only, allowing you to focus on your professional growth while enjoying a balanced lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils.
  • Assist the classroom teacher during lessons and contribute to lesson planning.
  • Report on pupils' progress and collaborate with staff to meet their needs.
  • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to drive engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Adapt resources to suit the needs of young people.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities, such as Food Hygiene or School Yoga.
  • Skills in behaviour management and a commitment to professional development.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
