Your Role: Oracle Database Application and Support Analyst

As an Oracle Database Application and Support Analyst, you will play a crucial role in delivering software solutions to over 100 esteemed customers, including key players in the Public Sector. This is a unique opportunity to work with a blend of on-premises, private, and public cloud-based systems.

Main Responsibilities

In this engaging role, you will:

  • Apply software updates and perform technology upgrades.
  • Install new software and troubleshoot related issues efficiently.
  • Proactively review metrics to address potential database performance and backup concerns.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, providing innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with your team to share workloads and foster a supportive environment.
  • Work alongside broader IT support teams, including Networks, UNIX, and Cloud Ops.
  • Identify areas for improvement to enhance customer outcomes through automation and efficiency.

Qualifications

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Experience with Oracle Database Management, including upgrades for single-instance environments.
  • Proficient in installing and maintaining software on Solaris, Linux, or Windows Server.
  • Experience deploying Apache Tomcat-based web applications.
  • Strong aptitude for direct customer interaction via video, telephone, and email.
  • Ability to troubleshoot performance issues using native Oracle tools like STATSPACK and OCI Analytics.
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes and modern ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Ivanti.
  • Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Expertise in Apache Web Server configuration and management.
  • Proficiency in Unix shell scripting for task automation.
  • Familiarity with Ansible setup and management.
  • Experience in scripted database and software backups and recovery.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft IIS Web Server configuration and management.
  • Understanding of network architecture.
  • Oracle Certification.
